Adopted!

Spucchi (Adopted)

Species: Dwarf Winter White

Gender: Male

Age: 3-4 months

Likes: Mealworms, tomatoes (feed in moderation), flax seeds, sunflower seeds, gerber puffs, whimzees

Dislikes: Coming out when it’s bright

Spuuchi enjoys being in his own bubble, and very rarely you will see him out when you’re still awake. He does sometimes come out from his hideout when  he hears people around, but that’s only if he’s feeling it!

He seems to prefer multiple hideouts instead of burrowing into thick bedding (but should be given nevertheless as an available option!)

Spuuchi enjoys sitting in his sandy glass jar- no naps, just sit- when he knows no one is watching. Even though he is relatively confident with interaction, he still nibbles fingers as a way of exploring. He will require someone who is patient to do daily interaction with him to encourage him to come out more often! Overall, there is a slight chance at being a cuddle bug as he will allow petting when he is in his hideout.

Nymeria (Adopted)

Species: Pearl winter white dwarf

Est Age / Date of birth: 3-4 months

Gender: Female

Rescue Date: May 2020

Likes: Pine nuts, whimzees, fresh vege like broccoli and kale, tofu

Dislikes: Sudden movements, loud noises

Nymeria is a total sweetheart worth melting for with her gentle gaze and gesture. Her name means “warrior queen” and she’s a fighter that was initially housed together with another female and had sustained some injuries to her mouth but has healed completely under the care of her fosterer. She loves food and will come running out the moment her food bowl is taken out for refill and wait there to dive into her food. She is still very skittish so any sudden movements will startle her. Please be patient in handling her.

Lyla (Adopted)

Species: Dwarf
Gender: Female
Age: Est 4-5 months
Likes: Burrowing in bedding, making tunnels, paper bedding over aspen, rodipet and fatpouches food, strawberry, pine nuts
Dislikes: Loud screaming or sudden movements.

Lyla is a gentle girl who would be a good addition for families with young kids. She is interactive and curious, comes out and stands on her platform when she hears children playing. She likes to eat around midnight and will usually clear her bowl in 1-2 days. Not too fussy, will finish everything except small green herbs. Likes fatpouches strawberry treats. She allows herself to be picked up relatively easily, will sit on hands, and if anything, can always be bribed with treats.

She is generally good and mild tempered - I accidentally poked her hard when she was sleeping but she did not bite. Sudden movements and sudden loud screaming might provoke/spook her into biting hard - fosterer will teach how to handle.

Kurious Kuro (Adopted)

Species: Hybrid Dwarf
Gender: Male
Est Age: approx. 1-2 months
Likes: Mealworms, Pumpkin Seeds, Spinach Leaf Stem, Fresh Vegetables, a lot of sand to dig in
Dislikes: Being woken up, sudden movement, weird noises

*Kurious Kuro will nip and is very speedy, he is  young and energetic thus he needs a family that is able to interact and tame him with patience and lots of love.

Kurious Kuro was surrendered as a tiny little fuzzy pup, he is Kurious by nature and loves exploring with both his little whittle nose or mouth haha. He may nip to test boundaries as he is still very young, however he loves attention and his mealworm a lot, he will literally snatch his worm and stumble backwards from his forceful snatch. He sits on balls while eating and occasionally loses his balance if the food is very delicious. Kuro loves his sand bath a lot and would waddle his feet to create sand ripples.

Pepper (Adopted)

Species: Dwarf Winter White

Gender: Female

Est Age: 1 year

Rescue Date: 2 April 2020

Likes: FOOD, cooling ceramic hideouts, cuddles and lots of attention

Dislikes: An empty food bowl

Pepper came to HSS’ foster care with deep open wounds on her right ear and hind foot. These injuries were due to her being housed with multiple other hamsters, resulting in fights. However, due to her calm and manja nature, she quickly recovered as she never resisted when her fosterer picked her up to apply medication. She just LOVES being picked up and cuddled. Her ears prick up and she runs excitedly to the cage door when people look into her cage.

A total cuddle bug, perfect for anyone who loves manja hams.

Future adopters have to feed her a diet of a lower protein level as she is quite overweight heh.
