Species: Roborovski
Gender: Male
Est Age: 6 months
Likes: Thick bedding, food refills, cooling hideouts
Dislikes: Being touched and picked up
Pancake is very adorable but he’s more of a see no touch hamster. It will not be recommended for you to adopt him if you prefer a hamster you can hold. Taming is possible but it will require a lot of patience, so be prepared!
His favourite places to sleep at are in ceramic hideouts and glass jars that can help him hide away from the hot Singapore weather. He loves food and looks out from wherever he is when he hears/smells his food bowl being refilled, but he will only cautiously tread towards it after making sure that your hand is out of his cage.
Despite Pancake being a shy and skittish boy, he deserves the chance to be loved and cared for! Will you be the one to get him to open up?

Things to note when adopting roborovskis:
1. Adopters should make sure to get a glass tank/bin cage/acrylic cage that does not have bars as roborovski hamsters are smaller and can squeeze through the gaps.
2. 1/3 of the cage should be covered with sand as roborovski hamsters tend to become excessively ‘greasy’ when an appropriately sized sand area is not given.
3. A wheel that is minimally 21cm should still be provided even if they are smaller in size as compared to dwarf hamsters.
