Maleficent (nicknamed Maley) may be named after a Disney villain, but she’s a pretty and shy girl who’s slowly working up the courage to get to know her fosterer because she realised that humans often have food with them. At the moment she has a tendency to leap off human hands when she gets startled. Other times, she will stand in place and start shivering. Maleficient enjoys being ferried around in a hamster taxi (a cup or hide) and will gladly be transported to the floor for some freeroaming or treats.
She looks almost exactly like her mama, Peaches, with her speckled black and white coat. She can mostly be found snuggling with her sisters or trying to keep her food away from them, hiding in a quiet corner of the cage and chewing on her snacks at light speed.
Maley loves burrowing and has made an extensive tunnel system within her cage. She spends most of her day huddled up in her burrows, emerging at night to run on her wheel and beg for treats/attention. She loves exploring, like any typical Syrian, and is always looking for trouble ;)
Currently she is still a baby and is learning to trust humans, so she can be easily startled at times and even nip when suddenly grabbed. She loves attention and food and should be easily bribed into opening up to humans!
Maleficient is a sweet, friendly girl who will brighten anyone’s day!
Requirements:
Cage: Unbarred, 100x50cm or bigger
Wheel: A lightweight 25-30cm wheel (she is currently using a 25cm acrylic wheel, but she may struggle with heavier wheels. The wheel should be upgraded as she grows)
Bedding: As per HSS requirements, 12cm thick bedding because she enjoys making tunnels and burrowing
Food: Currently on fatpouches but any approved seed mix is ok!
Enrichment: Plenty of hideouts, sprays, forage, boredom breakers, free roam/playtime time
