Outgoing and friendly, Spark is like her name suggests. She is a bolt of energy and will inject a spark of life into your home once you invite her in.

When she’s not running wild in her wheel, she’s sleeping in tunnels, her hideouts, or behind her wheel. Unlike most hamsters, Spark likes sleeping somewhere hidden from the light and heat, and dim and breezy enough to not have to get rid of all the surrounding bedding to keep cool. Living the high SES life, this one.

Like most animals, Spark is food-motivated and will poke her tiny head out from wherever she is and dive straight into her new food and sprays. However, as all hamsters generally have bad eyesight, she may mistake fingers for food and will occasionally lightly nibble on them but this is easily rectified by taking her out of her cage or giving her a treat instead.

If Spark gets bored, she may start chewing on hard materials, like metal or plastic. Thus, providing her with alternatives, like boredom breakers and chews (e.g. Whimzees, dandelion roots) that are better for her teeth is extremely important. There is also a chance that she may pee on you if you take her out of her cage immediately after she wakes, but in exchange for some hamster kisses and love, we think it’s definitely worth it!

Apart from that, she’s a sweet hamster who will allow massages and pets from pretty much anybody right off the bat and can easily be potty-trained to 70-80% accuracy.
