Orange was surrendered to us in early-December 2021. As she was kept with other hamsters, she has a round scar on her snout as a mark of her past as a gangster hammo!
Despite her tough front, Orange is really just a hammo who enjoys attention just like any other. She may act hard to get and stare angrily at you when you invite her to your palm but is perfectly fine if you were to just let her know you’re going to pick her up and do so quickly. Once she’s in your palm, this softie would melt into it (and your heart) and would appreciate some extra massages and cuddles!
Another quirk of Orange is that she is quite a stickler for cleanliness. She would only pee in a specific corner of her cage and quickly cover up her “mess” with bedding. This makes it easier for daily spot cleans, and she definitely appreciates a quick cleanup! (If you don’t, she’ll stack more bedding so that she can pee there again.)
She may look chonky but this girl would attest that they’re muscles! She loves munching on her daily Fatpouches and would pick out proteins first to enjoy. While she does exercise on her wheel for quite a fair bit of her waking hours, her fosterer believes she spends more sleeping on it or using it as a swing. (Orange prefers foraging and climbing across the cage as compared to running on her wheel!)

Sand: Wittemolen / Versele Laga Chinchilla Sand
Wheel: min. 21cm (Daisy/Niteangel 25cm wheels are a personal recommendation!)
Enrichment: min. 3 hideouts/multichamber/tunnels and spays/herbs for foraging!
