Like her vegetable counterpart, Potato likes to spend most of her time underground and surface only to look for food due to her having cataracts in both eyes. This is not a huge impediment as hamsters mostly rely on their sense of smell and hearing rather than sight. Please watch this video for more information on caring for a hamster with cataracts!

Despite her shy demeanour, you can sometimes catch her sleeping in the open during the day. In the dark she turns into a totally different hamster, zooming around the cage and practising her hand evasion skillz on the wheel‍♀️.

Slow and steady wins the race; after Potato’s foster allowed her to chill and get used to the new environment for a few days, she eventually opened up and started to climb onto hands and even fell asleep!
