Dislikes:

Not really a dislike but she will seldom eat from your hand. She prefers to be in the moment with you or roaming around when out of her cage. This might change over time.

Lil, gets her name from being super little (when she first came to HSS anyway!) now she has blossomed into a little chonky fluff ball who gets friendlier by the day. She’s a bit different to other hamsters, drifting in and out of sleep during the day and is usually running on her wheel by 7pm.

She likes digging and hunting for mealworms and standing up on her back legs to watch you in the room. Her bed may need a little more cleaning than usual as she hasn’t quite figured out that there are better places to pee.

Requirements

Bedding: Uncented Oxbow paper or teabag bedding is recommended.

Sand: Wild Sanko or chinchilla bathing sand as its less dusty as compared to other Brands

Wheel: Minimum size 21cm

Cage: To be a minimum of 80cm such as an Alaska cage or tank.

Diet: Bunny Nature Dream Hamster Expert. Lil is still exploring fresh fruit and vegetables, her new human is encouraged to have fun introducing Hamster friendly favourites to her. She’d also appreciate a flaxseed spray or two.

Enrichment: At least 2 hideouts is recommended for Lil and a cooling plate or marble surface would be ideal for the warmer days. Not a requirement but Lil likes digging, her current cage set up contains coconut peat that she likes to dig into just like her sand, you may consider this for your setup.

Water bottle: Because Lil runs a lot she gets quite thirsty. Therefore recommend the larger hamster bottle, although this should still be changed daily.

Love: Lots of pats and bonding time.
