Mars is a big, big girl in a big, big world. She was abandoned in Sengkang with her sister, Magnum, and was found running around in the void deck. When they were rescued, they were very overweight, a sign of an unbalanced diet and insufficient space to move. After being put on a diet, they're at a healthy weight, but still have some excess skin from their ordeal. Despite their hardships in life, the girls have blossomed into outgoing and friendly hamsters who love food and love life.

As you can see from her photos, Mars is very food-motivated and will be coaxed into many things if there's food involved. If not, Mars will not hesitate to walk away from you! This lady is confident and self-assured, with a spunky personality to boot. She knows she's good enough and won't settle for less. Well, unless you have a delectable treat in hand.

Mars has an amusing preference for hide-outs that are either square or rectangular. She likes corners, we've deduced. Her rounder hide-outs are usually left uninhabited, while she builds her soft nest in the other more angular ones. She also likes having a roof over her head for her hideouts. Before we figured out her preferences, she insisted on nesting in her sandbox that had a cover over it. No matter how many times we cleared the bedding she pain-stakingly brought into her sandbox, she would just repeat her nest-building process night after night. Mars is so stubborn in her ways that nothing will stop her from her decisions.

Mars has recently been transitioned into a naturalistic set-up. She is plenty stimulated by new substrates, of which her new favourite is apparent: dried moss! She pouched every single piece of moss in her cage to bring into her nest, much to the amusement of her fosterer. If you decide to take Mars home, her fosterer will send her off with a packet of her favourite moss too. She also loves sprays - oat, sorghum and flax are her preferred sprays of choice.

She is toilet-trained and isn't picky with her food. She waits impatiently for her daily fresh food to get delivered to her and then finishes it by the morning. When she wants to have her free-roam time, she will transmit that message to you very clearly - by protesting at the bars of her cage. She runs around confidently in her fosterer's room and when she tires out, she stops and rests in her favourite corner. Once she is familiar with you, she will stop by your legs for a check-in, or even climb you like a playpen!

Mars has two lumps in her nether region that have been looked at by a vet. She is not bothered by them and her activity level is not hindered by their existence. They are not growing in size and do not show signs of being cancerous. Due to this, her future owner must be prepared for vet visits should this situation change. No special change in her care is needed. Her vet and medical information will be duly passed on to her future owners, so rest assured that you will not be going into this blind.

Despite her circumstances, Mars has such a charming and outgoing personality, and will make your house a home. Will you be the one to give her stability forever?

Requirements:
Cage - 80xm x 50cm minimum. Mars is currently residing in an Alaska with little issues. Sufficient free-roam time is recommended as she can get restless. Alternatively, a bigger cage is always recommended.

Food - Mars has been fed Rodipet, Bunny Nature Expert and Fatpouches without issues. She isn't picky with her food. She also likes Mazuri lab blocks, and pouches them first when her food bowl is refilled.

Enrichment: At least 3 hideouts (preferably with angles. She's picky about those. )
