Nori was super tiny when she first joined HSS’ foster programme. She is possibly the runt of her litter and did not manage to successfully fight for enough food with her other siblings. However, she has since blossomed and doubled in weight after a month!
Nori loves burrowing in the day, away from the sun and noise. At night, when it is cooler and quieter, she peeks out from her burrow and runs into her favourite hideout of the week to wait for her fosterer to give her treats and playtime. Nori loves playtime, especially when there are tons of cardboard boxes and kitchen towel rolls with treats hidden everywhere. She dashes from corner to corner, runs through every box and tunnel and overworks her wheel during playtime. Her adopter is highly encouraged to buy a children’s ball pit online for this active girl’s playpen time.
Nori isn’t scared of human hands but she plays hard-to-get. Sometimes she runs and eagerly climbs onto her fosterer’s hand, sometimes she runs away from it. It is totally dependent on her mood. Trying to grab her will just make her run further away from you—patience is the key to this girl’s heart.
She has also cleverly toilet-trained herself one week after settling into her new foster home, without her fosterer having to put soiled bedding in her sand box. Bonus point!
Nori requires an adopter who is able to give her ample supervised playtime daily (usually around 10pm when she’s active and alert), and who is okay with not seeing her much in the day. Definitely not a hamster for children with early bedtimes.
