Kiki is a young and curious ham who has much to experience in her life! When first introduced to sand, she was inseparable from it. She ate, slept and even peed there, spending all her time under a wooden bridge in her sandbox. And then when she was given fresh food for the first time, she was a little scared of it, but once she had a taste, now she can't get enough, clearing her plate overnight.
Kiki is still a little scared of human hands, but she has gained enough confidence to run out to investigate when hands enter her cage instead of hiding. She likes to grab your hands with her little paws so she can give you a proper sniff, and sometimes will test-bite you. She is not aggressive though, just very curious! She is gradually becoming braver and will dare to step onto an open palm now, but will still startle when being lifted. She also does not like being grabbed and will run away when she sees hands coming for her.
However, when safely taken out of her cage, she loves to run along her fosterer's arms. She also will take pets, but only if she is given something to eat. Being a young hamster, Kiki is full of energy and won't stand still for very long, unless it's for a snack.
Kiki loves food, and will finish every last morsel in her foodbowl! Her fosterer has never seen a cleaner food bowl than Kiki's. Seed mix, lab blocks, herbs - Kiki will consume alllll.
Kiki likes dark, cramped spaces. Other than under the bridge in her sandbox, her other favourite sleeping space is under her waterbottle holder, or squashed against a hideout and the side of her cage.
Kiki has the potential to be a really interactive and food-motivated hamster. Will you be the one to break her out of her shell?
