Horlicks was surrendered along with 4 other siblings as a tiny 28g baby. He has deep red eyes which look black unless there’s bright sunlight. His long fur is a gorgeous shade of light yellow and it’ll likely grow out more in time to come so please expect to have to spend some time combing out bedding and tangles (it’s a good way of bonding too!).
Being a very curious hamster, Horlicks responds to sounds and movements around his cage by poking his head out of his hideout/burrows to see what’s going on. However, he’s still slightly skittish and will jump when you try to grab him. We’re slowly working on getting him used to being handled so potential adopters need to be patient in continuing with taming. He's making very good progress!
One good thing about this fluffy boy is that he’s not picky with his food so he can be easily bribed. A hack is to whip out his favourite treat which he’ll happily munch on while sitting on your open palm! His favourite spot in his cage is his sand bath. He’ll greatly appreciate a spacious sand bath to dig and rest in. Horlicks also loves burrowing and sleeping in the day so deep bedding is a must! Giving him a multi-chamber will provide him with more privacy in the day.
He has funny antics like swinging on his wheel and staring at you when you’re near his cage which will definitely humour you and your family! Will you be the one to give this little floof a lux life?

Sand: Wittemolen/Versele Laga chinchilla sand + big sand bath
Enrichment: Sprays and herbs for foraging, multi-chamber hide and/or multiple syrian-sized hideouts, treats
