Umaru is named after a character from an anime/manga series, Himouto! Umaru-chan. She is exactly like the ‘indoor’/hamster form of Umaru: chibi-like, princess-like and of course a little messy.
Although she was rescued after being neglected at a pet store, she has the perfect temperament anyone could ever ask for! Her fosterer would even say that she loves humans! She is perfectly okay being held and would be more than happy to receive pats from anyone. In fact, she loves humans so much, she would demand to get fed from your fingertips, only then would she eat a particular treat (spoiled much?). Being a hamster with a ‘princess syndrome’, she would be perfect for someone who hates dust as much as she does (BOOOO TO DUST!). She would also need you to clean her pee area daily because she pees specifically in a hideout, where she sleeps (clean up after me hooman!).
Furthermore, Umaru is NEVER shy to come out whenever she likes. At any time of the day you could watch her having her own little adventures in her enclosure, from licking her water bowl to transporting bedding in her mouth from one place to another. Additionally, she is also an active climber so do ensure her heights are not overly high!
With an easy-going personality, she doesn’t protest being woken up out of nowhere. Moreover, she is a gentle little chonk who has never bitten or screamed at anyone (although it is observed that she sometimes gently nips and licks)!
Fun fact: Umaru just loves whimzees (specifically in the ranking of yellow, red, green)! You would see her transporting whimzees in her mouth to her sleeping areas! She has also recently been trained to do a trick, aka spinning on command!
Quirky, easy-going and an absolute soft (both personality & her fur) little hamster, Umaru is looking for an adopter who would love and treat her like the little princess she is!
Medical History: Umaru has a history of respiratory issues but has made a recovery! However, potential adopters should still monitor her closely for possible exacerbations in the future, and are highly encouraged to prepare a Nebuliser (purchasable from most retail pharmacies).
Requirements:
Cage: unbarred cage with HSS measurement requirement
Wheel: as per HSS requirement
Bedding: dust-free/teabag bedding
Food: as per HSS requirement (preferably Fatpouches Premium to pamper her)
Enrichment: at least 2-3 ceramic hideouts, forages, sprays (organic flax is her ultimate favourite!), substrates (Umaru: “sand please?”), whimzees, cork logs (if possible)
Others: Nebuliser machine (preferred!)
