For a tiny hamster who has lived for slightly more than 3 months, Monty has involuntarily moved house many times – perhaps even more frequently than some of us humans. From being rescued from a hoarding situation to being held at the AVS headquarters to his current fosterer’s home, Monty wishes he will never have to move again and that he will finally belong somewhere.
He may have had a rough past, but Monty is still the ever loving hamster who will give you kisses with his soft little tongue and groom atop your palm once he assesses that you are not a threat to him. He can be skittish at times and will occasionally scream at you before darting under cover when he sees a giant hand suddenly reaching out in his direction but with some TLC, he is bound to turn into a cuddly boy due to his sweet and mild nature.
This boy goes a little nuts for mealworms and can be easily lured out once he smells food or mealworms. He will accept pine nuts from your fingers too if you offer him some! As he wasn’t given very many food options in the past, he can sometimes be a little slow to pick up what can and cannot be eaten – much like how he barely touches the millet spray his fosterer gave him because he doesn’t know it can be eaten (or maybe he just doesn’t like it, we’ll never know).
Why don’t you give Monty a warm and loving home where he will never have to move again and where he can enjoy all his favourite foods? You know you want to.
