Blueberry is a very round ball that was abandoned together with his family, and has grown to become a chonky ball that loves attention although he may be a little scared at first. He is very curious in wanting to explore outside of the cage, and is also willing to climb onto your palm when gently placed in the cage.
Blueberry loves to take treats from your hand and eats almost everything so he has yet to discover a food that he hates, but sometimes instead of taking the treat from your hand, he may decide it would be better to climb up onto your palm! Also holding him really feels like holding a fluffy ball.
A cute trait of Blueberry would be that when he hears the sound of seed mix dropping into the bowl, he will immediately perk up her ears and run towards the bowl. However, he may be territorial and think that you might try to take the food from him since he was once kept together with many other hamsters in a small space.
He is very fast at running off your palm when given the opportunity, and should be closely monitored when free roaming due to his speed. He spends most of the night running on the wheel so a smooth and silent wheel would be appreciated while he sleeps the whole day away. Blueberry may be a chonk but be sure can outrun Usain Bolt. However, since he is a young, fast and active hamster, families with young kids are not recommended to adopt him as he had tried to wiggle out of the fosterer’s hand and jump off from a high area. Hence close supervision should be provided when allowing Blueberry to roam outside the cage.
