Yves (Adopted)
Species: Hybrid Dwarf
Gender: Male
Estimated age: 6 weeks
Likes: meeting new people (but only if they come with food), pooping on his wheel and then running on it, flax, fresh vegetables, staring at you while standing on his hind legs, sleeping on his wheel
Dislikes: food being taken away from him
Yves was rescued from a home breeding situation that had spiralled out of control and was a mere 14g when he came into foster care… but he has since proven to have a (VERY) healthy appetite and has doubled in weight! He now resembles a very fluffy balloon (that continues to inflate…)
Yves is an extremely inquisitive and trusting little boy! He is the first to poke his head out whenever there are foreign noises (which he has now associated with food top-ups or snacks) and he is happy to have his meal right in front of you rather than taking it back to his hideouts. He is comfortable climbing into new hideouts in his cage and will curiously sniff your hands and fingers.
His food-motivated nature has made it easy to befriend him and his future family should continue the bonding/ taming process with food and patience. He is responsive, not fussy about his food and a delight to have in the house (although he has a bad habit of peeing in his food dish (which is very large).
He now spends his days lazing on his wheel (both on his back and his belly), catching some shut eye in between meals but predictably perks up whenever he hears even the slightest ruffle of a food bag!
Will you be the one to share your meals and life with Yves? :-)
