Hydie (Adopted)
Species: Syrian
Gender: Male
Estimated Age: 1 year
Likes: Burrowing and hiding in cozy corners, enjoys tofu treats and head pats
Dislikes: Woken up from his nap time, being held for too long
Hydie is a shy boy that loves his naps. Hydie requires a lot of bedding, as deep as possible! As his name suggests, Hydie enjoys burrowing under and hiding in small cozy areas for his naps. If woken up from his beauty sleep, Hydie would give a small frown and burrow deep into his bedding.
As Hydie was once housed with a female Syrian, believed to be his sibling, Hydie now has a tendency to hide and store his food all around the cage. Spot cleans have to be frequent to clear away spoilt foods as he tends to forget where he kept his food.
Hydie's snow-white coat is soft like a teddy bear and it gives anyone the urge to give him head pats, and he loves them! However, Hydie does not like to be handled for too long and he will start to get panicky. To keep his coat soft and shiny, sand baths have to be frequently changed as he's potty trained.
Hydie's shy nature will require lots of patience as he takes some time to warm up to new people. He does not like being hand-fed and will be very cautious at the beginning. So don't worry and give him some time! Once he warms up, Hydie will be very active and playful, especially in the wee hours of the morning.
