Cactus was rescued together with 60+ Roborovskis, where he didn’t have much human interaction. To the fosterer's surprise, Cactus is actually quite friendly and curious for a robo. (Roborovskis are known for their skittish nature.)
It is safe to say that he is not a ghost ham, and you will see him eating his food or roaming the cage even during the day, which is a bonus.
If Cactus was a human, he would be a popular kid, who is cute, adventurous and a bit goofy! All the girls in ham world would have crush on him!
When his fosterer is watching him from outside of his cage, Cactus is not scared and just minds his own business. Furthermore, he would sometimes come towards you in his cage as if he wanted to say hello! He is also courageous enough to take snacks from a human's hand sometimes. Can you resist this cute ball of fluff? No you can't! He is getting used to more human handling now, however, once a robo, always a robo! He doesn’t like to be grabbed or have sudden movements around him, and he would get jumpy when he has a fright. Potential adopters are required to give him some time and to be patient with him. It may take time but it's worth it in the long run. In addition, as he runs so fast when he is scared, it is not recommended for him to be handled by small children.
Cactus is a natural born foodie and he likes dried tofu, fresh baby corn, flaxseed, pine nuts, etc, etc...Well, he actually eats mostly anything.
His fosterer gives him a lot of sprays and forages. Cactus loves moving from one spray to another, by exploring in the cage. He burns all the excessive calories by running on the wheel almost all night.
Special notes to the potential adopters:
He tends to pee on the wheel... So daily cleaning of the wheel is required to keep him clean and healthy.
Cactus needs a sand bath bigger than A5 to keep him from getting a greasy back. Currently he uses the sand bath with the size of 30cmx23cm.
Cactus is a young, active and popular kid in town. He is looking for someone special to call his family... Will you be the one for him?
