Astro (Adopted)
Species: Dwarf Hybrid
Estimated age: 2.5 months
Gender: Male
Likes: shanghai green, pistachio, flax seeds, mealworms, fresh apples, sunflower seeds, walnuts, burying himself in bedding and pretending nobody can see him, covering himself with bedding on his wheel (like a literal blanket) and taking naps
Dislikes: egg white, Heinz pumpkin potato and beef, whimzees (he doesn’t seem to understand the concept of a whimzee…), pine nuts, science select
Astro is a tiny, hamsum and quirky little boi who will have you entranced by his antics in no time! He is oddly curious/ amazed about everything around him, and you can see the bewilderment in his eyes when you hand feed him treats and he looks at you like this: O.O he accepts the treats (especially fresh vegetables!) after a couple of sniffs and pawing at the treat to make sure he’s not dreaming. A true drama king :’-)
Another of his quirks is that he loves to sleep surrounded by/ covered in bedding. This usually manifests in one of two ways: he will either find a comfortable spot on the wheel and drag bedding onto the wheel to create a literal blanket cave for himself or he will smoosh himself next to a hideout and against the walls of his cage (an acrylic cage makes it perfect to take sneaky pictures of all the cute positions he ends up in!)
In terms of diet, Astro is a rather picky boi and refuses to eat certain seeds in whatever seed mix he is offered… he also hates protein blocks… his fosteror supplements his diet (especially his protein intake) with fresh vegetables and mealworms on a regular schedule. Thankfully he loves his vegetables! His new family should be committed to providing him with fresh greens as well :-)
Astro is partially potty trained, and you can count on him to consistently pee in his sand pit. He enjoys rolling around the sand as well and his new family should provide him with a fairly large sand pit so he’s able to lounge in comfort (his fosteror will provide more details)! Despite his tiny build, Astro shows a great capacity to love and be loved. He warmed up to his fosteror after gradual steps at taming and he is now comfortable enough to be stroked and to climb up on her palm (when he feels like it) :-)
Will you be the one to welcome this baby star home? :-)
