Pista (Adopted)
Species: Dwarf Hybrid
Gender: Female
Estimated Age: 6 months old
Likes: Sprays like Millets, Sorghum! I like lab blocks, I actually like a lot of things but they're all FOOD.
Dislikes: Being picked up. Things being moved in my home. Invasion of privacy.
Pista is a beautiful, active, bright-eyed girl that came from a tough background and has hence learnt to be very protective of herself and her space. She is lightning quick and will lunge, hug and bite at anything that comes near her. As such, she will need an experienced and confident adopter, that is comfortable with handling the her (with thick gloves! Warning: She can bite through cotton durian gloves), and smile even though Pista is feisty, and understands that she may never be a cuddle buddy. She is more of an arowana, it's best to observe without touching unless necessary.
We really hope that we can find a family that has the proper knowledge of handling an aggressive hamster like Pista, and OK to experiment with various techniques that will protect your fingers from her attacks, because with food, she can be a really joy (almost comical) to be around! Pista absolutely loves food, and can forage an entire Black Sorghum stalk in a few short hours. She also WILL chase anything and everything, so using food can also be a great way to encourage Pista to exercise (And have some giggles as she zooms all around her cage like a Ferrari 488 Pista supercar!)
We do hope that Pista learns to be calm and trust humans. Will you be her friend for life?
